No account. No cloud. No logs. Untraceable AI ships with the model inside it, so the first thing it does on launch is work — in aeroplane mode, in a basement, on a plane, with the SIM out.
A full conversation with an on-device model, laid out as a terminal session. Long answers keep their formatting — headings, lists, tables and code blocks.
Attach a PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, CSV, JSON or source file. The text is extracted on the phone and the relevant passage is fed to the model — and shown to you.
Attach a picture from the library or the camera. Text and subject matter are read on device with Apple's Vision framework, then discussed by the model.
Optional and off by default. Web, news, images and video modes, with results as cards you can open in the built-in browser.
Reading something long? The in-app browser can summarise the page or answer questions about it — still using the model on your phone.
Dictate instead of typing, using Apple's built-in speech recognition.
Import any GGUF file from the Files app and switch to it. The bundled model stays as the default.
There is no cloud AI in this app, and no way to add one. Your prompts cannot be sent to an AI company, because the app has nowhere to send them.
Black, neon green, monospaced. Every turn is a prompt line and every answer is its output. Nine accent colours and a light theme are a tap away in settings if green is not your colour.
The offline claim is only worth something if it is specific, so here is exactly when the app uses a connection:
| Feature | Network |
|---|---|
| Chat with the built-in model | None. Works in aeroplane mode. |
| Documents and photos | None. Extraction and vision run on device. |
| Web search / browser | Only when you enable it — your query goes to the search engine. |
| Dictation | Uses Apple's speech recognition, which may process audio on Apple's servers. |
| Any AI service | Never. There is none — the only model is the one on your phone. |
There is no server belonging to this app. Nothing is uploaded to the developer, because there is nowhere for it to go.
iPhone running iOS 16.4 or later. The download is large — around 780 MB — because the model comes with it; get it on Wi-Fi. A modern iPhone answers at a comfortable reading speed; older devices are slower but work.
