Offline AI Reminder for iPhone and iPad. If the answer is not here, write to sivavimelrajhen@gmail.com — it is read by a person, and the app keeps no logs, so what you say is genuinely all there is to go on.

Things you can say

The same words work in the Add a reminder… field at the top of the Today screen. It is the same grammar, so anything the assistant understands, that field understands.

Reminders

How do I make something repeat?

Say it — "every day", "on weekdays", "every Monday and Thursday", "every other week", "monthly", "every third day" — or open the reminder and use the Repeat card. Never, Day, Week, Month and Year are five pills; picking Week shows the seven day circles and three presets.

A repeating reminder is one thing in your list, not one per day. That is why the All list shows it once with a repeat symbol; the days it lands on are in the Calendar.

What is the difference between all-day and a set time?

A reminder with a set time is notified at that moment, and counts as late the moment it passes. An all-day reminder belongs to the whole day: it only counts as missed once the day is over.

Switch between them with At a set time in the editor.

What time does an all-day reminder actually tell me?

At your default time of day — nine in the morning unless you change it in Settings → Reminders → Default time of day. The editor prints the hour under the switch, so you can see it at the moment you make the choice.

"Tomorrow" with no time said is an all-day reminder, so "remind me to water the plants tomorrow" reaches you at nine tomorrow morning, not at midnight. The day it belongs to starts at midnight; being told about it does not.

What is the heads-up notification?

An optional notice before a timed reminder — five minutes to a day ahead. Set the default in Settings, or per reminder in the editor.

Why did the app choose a list for me?

Because most of the time it can. "Pay the rent" is money, "take the pills" is health, "put the bins out" is home. It goes on the words, and the longest match wins, so "water the plants" is a chore rather than a health habit. Tap the reminder and change the List row whenever it guesses wrong.

Something did not get understood

Nothing is lost: if the app cannot read a date out of what you typed, it keeps your words and puts the reminder on the default day and time from Settings. Open it and set the date by hand.

In a conversation, an unrecognised request goes to the on-device model, and what it reads is offered as a card for you to confirm — never acted on by itself.

Notifications

Nothing popped up when a reminder was due

Check, in order:

Permission. Settings → Offline AI Reminder → Notifications → Allow Notifications. The app asks the first time you have a reminder; if you said no then, this is where to change it. There is also a banner at the top of the Today screen when permission is off.

A Focus. Normal and low-priority reminders are silenced by a Focus, deliberately. Mark the ones that matter high priority and they come through it.

Scheduled Summary. If Offline AI Reminder is in your notification summary, its notices are held back and delivered in a batch. Remove it from the summary.

Volume and the silent switch. A notification obeys both.

I have a lot of reminders and some did not arrive

iOS keeps only the 64 soonest pending notifications per app and quietly drops the rest — that is a system limit, not a setting. The app spends that budget deliberately: the reminders themselves come first, the heads-up notices take what is left, and the whole plan is rebuilt every time you open the app. Opening it once a day is enough to keep it topped up.

What are the morning plan and evening review?

Two optional daily notifications. The morning plan says how much is due today, at an hour you choose. The evening review is a nudge at half past eight to tick off what you actually finished. Both are off-by-default switches in Settings, except the morning plan which starts on.

I want to see what one looks like

Settings → Notifications → Preview a reminder. It arrives in five seconds. Lock the phone to see it on the Lock Screen.

The calendar

What do the marks under the dates mean?

A filled dot is a day where everything due got done. A half-filled one is a day where some of it did. A hollow ring is a day that was missed. Small bars are days still to come, one per thing due, up to three.

They are different shapes, not just different colours, so the calendar works if you cannot tell the colours apart.

Today's square says "coming" but the reminder says overdue

That is deliberate. A reminder that was due at nine is late at ten past. The day is not a failure until it is over, so today's square is never marked missed — you still have all day to clear it, and an app that writes you off before lunch is one you stop opening.

Can I tick something off late?

Yes, and it counts. Ticking off Tuesday's reminder on Thursday credits it to Tuesday, which is where you will look for it. You lose the on-time bonus, not the points.

My week starts on Sunday

Settings → Appearance → Week starts on. It changes the calendar grid and the weekly chart on the Score screen together, so the two always mean the same thing.

The score

How are points worked out?

Five for a low-priority reminder, ten for normal, fifteen for high, plus five more if you finish before it was due. The full rules are written on the Score screen, in the same words the app computes them with.

Points are banked when you tick something off and are never recalculated afterwards. What you earned last month is what you earned, whatever a future version's rules say.

My streak did not go up

A day counts towards the streak when everything due on it is done. One thing left open and the day is not cleared.

A day with nothing due does not break a streak — it is skipped. And today never breaks it, however late it gets, until the day is actually over.

I un-ticked something and my score went down

Yes — un-ticking takes the points back. It is a correction, not a penalty, and the alternative is a total that only ever goes up regardless of what is true.

What is the seven-day chart?

Each day is two bars in one: an outline for what was due, and a solid fill for what you finished. A full solid bar is a cleared day; an empty outline is a missed one; nothing at all is a day with nothing due.

The assistant

Does anything I type get sent anywhere?

No. The language model is a file inside the app and runs on your device. There is no network code in the app at all — you can put the phone in Airplane Mode and the assistant works exactly the same, which is the easiest way to check the claim rather than take it on trust.

The first answer took a moment

Opening the Ask tab loads the model, which is a few hundred megabytes. That happens once per launch, and only if you go to that tab.

Dates, repeats and counts do not wait for it. Ask for a reminder while the model is still loading and you will get it immediately — the understanding was never the model's job.

It got my sentence wrong

Two things help. Put the thing first and the timing last — "remind me to call the dentist on Friday at 3" rather than "on Friday remind me about 3pm dentist". And say am or pm when it matters; without one the app picks whichever comes round sooner, except on a named day, where a morning-ish hour means the morning.

Can it be wrong about a date?

It can misunderstand a sentence, and it says so — it shows you what it set, and there is an Undo. What it will not do is invent one. Every date and number on screen is computed by the app from your own data; the model's sentence is checked for figures and discarded whole if it contains any.

Can I turn the AI part off?

Settings → Assistant → Written notes. The assistant keeps working — parsing, creating, moving, answering — with no model involvement at all.

iPad

Is there an iPad version?

Yes, and it is a different interface rather than the phone one stretched: a permanent sidebar instead of a tab bar, and two columns — the month beside the day you are reading, your list beside your score.

It looks cramped in Split View

In a narrow Split View slot the screens fall back to a single column, which is the right layout for a pane that is genuinely phone-shaped. Widen the slot and the second column comes back.

Your data

It said my reminders were recovered

The app keeps a second copy of your list beside the first, written every time anything changes. If the main file cannot be read at launch it is moved aside — not deleted — the backup is used, and you are told.

Worth doing once: open the Calendar and check a few dates look right.

Is my list backed up or synced?

Not by the app — there is no iCloud, no sync and no server. It is included in your normal encrypted device backup, like any other app's data.

How do I get rid of my data?

Delete the app. Everything goes with it: reminders, history, score and settings. There is no account anywhere and nothing held by anybody else.

Accessibility

Can I make the text bigger?

Yes. Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size, or Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. The app follows it throughout and the layout is tested at both the default and the largest accessibility size.

Does it work with VoiceOver?

Yes. Every control is named, and the checkbox on each row is a separate control from the row itself — so "open this" and "tick this off" are never the same gesture. The calendar squares announce the date and how much of that day got done. The tick boxes are 44 pt targets.

The calendar also distinguishes days by shape rather than colour alone.

General

Why is the download so large?

The language model ships inside the app — a few hundred megabytes of it. That is the price of an assistant that never sends anything anywhere: there is no download step, no account and no server, because everything it needs is already on your phone.

What does it need?

iOS 17 or later, on iPhone or iPad. Nothing else — no account, no network, no permissions beyond notifications.

Contact

Still stuck

Email sivavimelrajhen@gmail.com. It helps to say what you typed, what you expected and what happened — the app keeps no logs and sends nothing, so your description is genuinely all there is to go on.

A screenshot is worth a paragraph, and the version number is at the bottom of Settings.

Something the app got wrong

Worth reporting even when you have worked around it, and especially the sentences it misread: the grammar is the app's own, so a sentence that ought to have worked is something that can be fixed rather than a limit of the model. Quote the sentence exactly, including the words that seem irrelevant — those are usually the ones that mattered.
