This is checkable, not just claimed

A privacy policy is only worth what can be verified against it. Two things here can be, without taking anybody's word:

• Turn on Airplane Mode before you open the app. Every feature works identically, including the assistant. Nothing degrades, because nothing was ever going anywhere.
• The app is not built with networking in it. Not "networking that is switched off" — the shipped binary does not link iOS's networking frameworks at all. There is no code in it that could open a connection.

What the app stores, and where

Your alarms, timers, stopwatch, pinned cities and settings are written to the app's own private storage on your device. They are not copied anywhere else. Deleting the app deletes them.

If an alarm file is ever found damaged — after a device restore, say — the app keeps the damaged copy rather than deleting it, so nothing you set can disappear without trace, and it tells you on the Alarms screen that it did so. That file stays in the app's private container like everything else, and goes when the app does.

The assistant

The language model is a file inside the app and runs on your device. What you type is turned into a prompt on the device, answered on the device, and never transmitted. There is no server, no API key and nothing to sign in to.

Two things it does not do, which are worth saying plainly because similar apps do them: it does not use what you type to train anything, and it does not keep a history. Each question is answered on its own and then forgotten.

The app itself — not the model — works out your alarms, timers, durations and time-zone answers. Any sentence the model writes that contains a figure is discarded before you see it.

What the app does not do

• No accounts, sign-in, or email address.
• No analytics, crash reporting or telemetry of any kind. No analytics, advertising or attribution SDK is embedded — the only third-party code in the app is the model runtime listed below, which has no network access of any kind.
• No advertising, ad identifiers or tracking. Nothing is shared with anyone, so App Tracking Transparency does not apply and the app never shows that prompt.
• No contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera or health data. The app never asks for them, and there is no code in it that reads them.
• No cloud service of its own. If you have iCloud device backup switched on, the app's files are included in that backup, which is Apple's service and subject to Apple's terms — not ours, because there is no ours.

Permissions

The app asks for exactly one thing: permission to send notifications, the first time you switch an alarm on, because an alarm cannot ring without it. The notifications are created and scheduled on your device. They are not push notifications; no server is involved and nothing about them is sent anywhere.

Setting a real alarm also asks for alarm permission, which you grant from a banner on the Alarms screen. Alarms and timers are then held by iOS itself so they can ring with the app closed. What iOS is given is the time it should ring and the label you typed — nothing else, and nowhere but this device.

Both permissions can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings. Without them the app keeps working; only the ringing gets weaker.

Children and age rating

The app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, and has no way to. It does include an assistant powered by a language model that answers what you type, which is reflected in its App Store age rating — please see the rating on the App Store listing for the current classification.

Your rights

Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data a company holds about you. No personal data about you is held, received or processed by us at any point, so there is nothing to disclose, correct, export or erase on request.

The data the app creates lives on your device and is yours already: deleting the app removes all of it, immediately and completely.

Third-party components

The app includes llama.cpp (MIT licensed, © 2023–2024 The ggml authors) to run the model, and the Llama 3.2 1B Instruct model file itself (© Meta Platforms, Inc., used under the Llama 3.2 Community License). Both are compiled into the app and run locally. Neither contacts its authors, us, or anybody else. Built with Llama.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes what it does with data, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. If a future version ever gained a network feature, it would be described here, in plain words, before you could install it.
