Offline AI Academy has no account, no analytics and no server. The developer does not collect, receive or store any of your information.

The AI model is bundled inside the app and runs on your iPhone. What you type, the documents you attach and the conversations you have with the tutor stay on the device. Two things can leave it, and both are your choice: connecting a cloud AI provider (off by default), and using the microphone button for dictation, which goes through Apple's speech recognition. Both are explained below.
Everything below lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS file encryption, and is removed when you delete the app.
| What | Where | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your subject, reason, job title, years of experience and question type | App memory while the app is open | Until you close the app |
| Text extracted from a PDF or DOCX you attach | App memory while the app is open | Until you close the app. The original file is never copied into the app |
| Your conversation with the tutor | App memory only — it is never written to disk | Until you leave the session |
| Theme and accent colour | App settings on the device | Until changed or the app is deleted |
| A cloud API key, if you add one | The app's private settings on the device | Until you remove it or delete the app |
| A GGUF model file, if you import one | The app's Documents folder | Until you delete it in the app |
The app's Documents folder is visible to you under Files → On My iPhone → Offline AI Academy, so you can add or remove model files yourself. Nothing else is written there.
In its default state the app makes no network requests. It works in aeroplane mode, and that is the point of it. There are exactly two optional paths out.
Under Settings → AI Engine → Connect a cloud API you can add your own key for Gemini, ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Groq, Mistral, DeepSeek or Qwen, or point the app at a custom endpoint such as Ollama, LM Studio or OpenRouter. This is off unless you set it up.
While a cloud engine is active, the text of your session — the subject or job details you entered, any text extracted from a document you attached, and the messages in the conversation — is sent to that provider so it can reply. That provider's own privacy policy and terms then apply to it; the developer of this app is not a party to it and never sees the traffic. Switch back to the on-device model at any time and the network path closes again.
The microphone button uses Apple's Speech framework to turn speech into text. Depending on your device, iOS version and language, Apple may perform that recognition on the device or send the audio to Apple for processing. This app does not control which, does not receive the audio, and does not store it. If you would rather nothing leave the device, type instead of dictating, or turn off Speech Recognition for this app in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
| Permission | Why | Needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Dictating an answer instead of typing it | Optional |
| Speech Recognition | Turning that dictation into text | Optional |
The app asks for nothing else. It does not request contacts, photos, camera, location, calendar, health data or notifications.
The app is a study tool and is suitable for students. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children, because it collects none at all. If a cloud provider is connected on a child's device, that provider's terms and age requirements apply to the text sent to it — which is a reason to leave the app on its bundled offline model.
There is no data held about you to access, correct, export or delete, because none is collected. Everything the app keeps is on your own device and under your control: clear a field, delete an imported model in Settings → AI Engine, remove an API key, or delete the app to remove all of it at once.
If a future version changes what leaves the device, this page and the App Store privacy label will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the release notes.
