Offline Email AI

Getting started
How do I add my email account?
Open the app, tap Add Email Account, choose your provider (Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, or Custom), enter your email address and password, and tap Connect. The app verifies the IMAP and SMTP connection before saving.
Gmail says my password is wrong.
Google no longer allows third-party apps to sign in with your regular Gmail password. You need to generate an App Password:
- Enable two-step verification on your Google account.
- Visit myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.
- Create a password named "Offline Email AI" and paste it into the app.
Yahoo and some other providers have the same requirement.
What does "Loading AI model…" mean?
Offline Email AI loads its language model into memory the first time you open it and after the app has been purged from memory. This takes a few seconds on newer iPhones and up to fifteen seconds on older ones. The status line changes to AI is ready for you when it finishes.
Using the app
How do I summarize my inbox?
Open the inbox and tap the AI summary button in the toolbar. Choose All emails or Unread only. The app fetches each message body one at a time and streams a short summary beneath the header — you can stop at any time.
What do the red, orange, and green dots mean?
They are urgency scores the AI assigns to individual messages. Red means high priority, orange means medium, green means low. Scoring happens on-device and updates as you open each message.
Can I use a cloud model instead of the on-device one?
Yes. Go to Settings → AI Model and pick a cloud provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or a custom endpoint). You'll need an API key from that provider. Cloud mode is off by default — the app ships private.
Does the app work offline?
Yes for AI. The on-device model summarizes and scores emails without an internet connection. Sending, receiving, and fetching new email requires a connection to your mail server because the messages live there, not on the developer's servers.
Troubleshooting
The app is frozen on "Loading AI model…"
Force-quit the app (swipe it up in the app switcher) and reopen it. If the problem persists on an older device, go to Settings and switch to a smaller model or cloud mode. Report the device model and iOS version to the email below.
Connection test fails with "authentication failed".
Double-check the password. For Gmail and Yahoo, use an App Password rather than your account password. If your provider requires a non-standard port, use the Custom provider option at account setup.
How do I delete everything the app has stored?
Uninstall the app. All cached messages, drafts, credentials, and AI output are stored inside the app's sandbox and are removed by iOS when you delete the app.
