Offline Email AI
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 April 2026
Offline Email AI is built on a simple promise: your email stays on your phone. This policy explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
Nothing. The developer does not operate a backend, does not run analytics, does not embed third-party SDKs, and does not receive a single byte from the app. No account is required to use Offline Email AI.
What stays on your device
- Mail credentials. Your IMAP and SMTP username and password are stored only in the iOS Keychain.
- Message cache. Email headers and bodies that you fetch are cached on-device so the app can work offline. The cache is removed when you uninstall the app or sign the account out.
- Drafts and AI output. Replies, summaries, and urgency scores are stored locally.
- Optional cloud API keys. If you choose to enable a cloud language model provider, the API key you enter is stored only in the iOS Keychain.
Network connections the app makes
- Your mail server. IMAP (port 993, TLS) and SMTP (port 465 TLS or 587 STARTTLS) — direct, encrypted connections to the provider you configure.
- Your chosen cloud model provider. Only if you explicitly enable a cloud LLM in Settings and enter an API key. The app does not send data to any cloud model by default.
No other outbound traffic. There is no call-home, no telemetry, no crash reporter, no ad SDK, and no CDN request.
On-device AI
The language model that summarizes and triages your messages runs entirely on your device. Email content passed to the model never leaves the phone unless you have opted in to a cloud provider.
Permissions
- Microphone and Speech Recognition — requested only when you tap voice dictation inside Compose.
- Photo Library and Camera — requested only when you attach an image.
None of these permissions are required for reading or sending email.
Children
Offline Email AI is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly process data from children.
Your control
Because all of your data lives on the device, you are in full control. Removing an account inside the app deletes its credentials and cache. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it ever stored.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated and the new version will be published at the same URL as this page.
