How to Play
Starting a run
Tap PLAY on the main menu. Your car accelerates automatically — your job is to survive.
Lane changes
Swipe left or right anywhere on the screen to move between the six lanes of traffic. Three lanes are your side of the highway, three are oncoming.
Speed control
Tap and hold the upper part of the screen to accelerate. Tap and hold the lower part to brake hard. You can also drift between gears by mixing both.
Power-ups
Drive into glowing icons on the road to collect them:
- Blue arrow — Boost. Tunnel-vision speed burst for 5 seconds.
- Gold hexagon — Shield. Smash through traffic without crashing for 5 seconds.
Scoring
You earn points for "near misses" — passing close to other cars without hitting them. Chain near misses to build your combo multiplier (up to 10x). Crossing into oncoming lanes doubles the bonus.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all the cars free?
Yes. All four cars in the Garage are free to use from day one. There are no in-app purchases anywhere in Car Run: Traffic Racer.
Why is the police chasing me?
The police appear once you reach 100 km/h for the first time. Outrun them by sustaining 140+ km/h, or get caught in a slow-motion takedown. Slow down too much and they will close in.
How do I save my progress?
Best score and best distance are saved automatically on your device. There is no cloud sync in this version — uninstalling the App will erase your scores.
Why do I see ads?
Car Run: Traffic Racer is free and ad-supported. A single banner appears at the bottom of the screen during gameplay only — never in the menu or garage. There are no full-screen, video, or rewarded ads.
Can I remove the ads?
Not in version 1.0.0. We are considering an optional one-time purchase to remove the banner in a future update.
The game crashed. What do I do?
Force-quit the App (swipe up from the bottom and flick the Car Run: Traffic Racer preview off the top), then reopen it. Your scores are saved. If crashes persist, please send us your device model and iOS version using the contact email below.
Does the game work offline?
Yes. The gameplay itself runs fully offline. Only the banner advertisements require an internet connection — when offline, the ad slot will be empty but the game continues normally.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
Email us at the address below. Include your device model, iOS version, and a brief description of what you were doing when the issue occurred. Screenshots help.
Privacy questions?
Our Privacy Policy is published separately and explains exactly what data the App and its advertising partners handle. The short version: we collect almost nothing locally, ads come from Google AdMob, and you can disable tracking from iOS Settings.
Troubleshooting
The game runs slowly
Car Run: Traffic Racer is designed to run smoothly on iPhone 8 and newer. Close other apps in the background, restart your device, and ensure you have at least 200 MB of free storage.
No sound
Check that your device is not in silent mode (the side switch on iPhone) and that your media volume is up. The App respects the system mute switch by design.
Touch controls feel unresponsive
Make sure no screen protector is interfering with touch input. The touch zones are calibrated for the bottom 40% of the screen for throttle and brake — try to keep your thumb in those areas.
